When we received a new enquiry from 'Classified Ads' giant, AutoTrader requesting our help in creating a brand new biophilically geared work-space for their staff, we were delighted. A local project too since the office refurbishment was within their existing office space located on First Street, Manchester, it was timed to coincide with their staff returning to work post-covid. The entire project was so large it was carried out three separate phases during the late Spring/early Summer months.
The Manchester office is spread over three separate floors (4th, 5th and 6th), each with some 6o linear meters of coverage! It was also another project that encompassed all I Want Plants' specialities; Green Infrastructure - comprising large-scale Plant Rental & Maintenance. Custom Installations - comprising eleven Custom Made Trees and and an artificial Living Wall. Finally, one HYVERT living wall too.
The Green Infrastructure was achieved using a mixture of floor standing and built-in raised troughs alongside small earthy toned/grey containers on high shelving.
Plant specimens included Ferns, Calatheas, Aspleniums, Monstera and many, many more.
This Biophilic/‘big-leaf tropical vibe’ design theme will now contribute towards air purifying and staff mental wellbeing and the generous high-level planters will help create defined separate workspace.
AutoTrader have opted to include ongoing specialist maintenance for all the live plants in troughs and the Hyert living wall too, so these will now be regularly maintained and cared for by our skilled plant technicians, to keep them looking fantastic.
Eleven Custom Made Trees were created, the taller ones measuring 1.8m in height.
We achieved this by assembling our signature, sustainable natural branches (with sandblasted finish), to form a trunk and then attaching Birch foliage to create the tree shape.
Each tree was then installed into the centre of bespoke ring-shaped desks, to create a wonderful ‘green’ centre-piece. The stunning hoop lighting above and 'under-lit' design of each round table means that the trees stand out proudly and beautifully.
The second Custom Installation element was the creation of this wonderful artificial living wall, packed full of interesting foliage and a perfect back-drop for the centre-stage AutoTrader branding.
