Bruntwood SciTech – Alderley Park
The beginning of 2023 has seen us complete a fantastic new workspace interiors project for our client Bruntwood SciTech at their Alderley Park site; Glasshouse. As the name might suggest, Glasshouse evokes vision of a space where natural light floods through, however for this particular project, the transformation was carried out in the Glasshouse basement, to create a brand new space called 'Nest'.
The Basement was literally a blank canvas, obviously lacking in natural light exposure, open plan and with vast floorspace of up to 7500 sq ft. Post project, Nest at Glasshouse is now a stunning new work-space destination, offering office suites, co-working spaces, meeting rooms, a boardroom and even a restorative wellness suite. We love the light installation within the Wellness Suite which softly projects various colours upon the wall, changing the ambience and silhouetting our plants beautifully. And with glass partitions, the wellness suite can be admired from afar. The Basement's overall biophilic design scheme is evident throughout the project. The walls and flooring are light in colour to help maintain the sense of space whilst both hard and soft furnishings are heavily influenced by natural colours and materials. The various replica plant displays and custom-made tree also play a pivotal role in the scheme.
The large variety of artificial plants we installed create appealing focal points across the whole workspace. Including almost 2m tall Kentia Palms planted into ribbed round containers.
Our earthy looking 'Lava' plant container ranges looked fantastic too (available in white, rust, jade or black colour-ways and various sizes).
Plants were floor-positioned in clusters or individually.
We also filled our client's custom-made troughs with various plants (and height), including Dracaena, Ferns and Ficus Lyrata - all finished with a bark top dressing.

The elevated plant displays also helped to partition various areas of the workspace and provide privacy too.
Another plant focal point was the creation of three hanging rafts from the ceiling, each measuring almost 7m x 3m.
The perimeter and framework of each raft is now concealed by replica trailing Ivy and Pothos and looks fantastic!
The final part of our project for Glasshouse, Nest, was the installation of an elegant custom-made tree fixed into client's custom-made circular table.
The tree standing at around 1.7m high was built using sandblasted Manzanita wood and dressed with abundance of Ficus foliage.
It's been a wonderful project to help complete and one where all the biophilic finishes combine to make one beautiful, multi-purposed workspace.
