Climat Restaurant Manchester
Climat Restaurant Manchester
Take the lift to the 8th Floor in Blackfriars House, Manchester and you'll find yourself immersed in Manchester's newest restaurant, Climat. Climat with it's roof-top location makes the most beautiful 'crown' for historic Blackfriars House, which is also one of Bruntwood's Pioneer Buildings. (A mix of workplace, retail and leisure space focussed around six key pillars: biophilia, art, sustainability, wellness, amenity and technology.)
Climat, a wine-led restaurant from the team behind Michelin Guide, Covino in Chester is flooded with stunning natural light and the minimalist design scheme features both live and artificial Green Infrastructure. We used artificial foliage trailing between 40-80com to frame a large glass Atrium above a relaxing area where guests can enjoy both the Manchester skyline and observe some very local Manchester bee activity thanks to a neat row of beehives which will hopefully be the providers of some very local honey for Climat.

Live plants such as Ficus Lyrata and Rhipsalis were planted into a beautiful range of I Want Plants' containers, complete with low base planting and a fine bark top dressing.
And these were positioned neatly into corners or centrally, to provide a natural partition within the restaurant.
These handmade ceramic containers form part of I Want Plants' 'Lava' range and are available in three earthy coloured shades; jade, tortoiseshell and charcoal.
The second half of our Climat project involved the installation of various live plants and flowering shrubs, providing both natural beauty to compliment the City views alongside helping to keep the Bees busy!
And being a Bruntwood Pioneer Building, the roof-top space had a dual purpose.
There is a seating area for the exclusive use of Climat guests and also bench style table/seating providing a wonderful communal roof garden space for Blackfriars House occupants.
These two separate spaces were partitioned by moveable containers, planted with a variety of shrubs which will help with the space definition.
We're proud to have been involved in this project, Climat is already deservedly receiving amazing plaudits.
Our project work took place in one of the coldest months of the year, but Climat is definitely a social space for all seasons and we can't wait to re-visit.
Thank you to CKB Interiors (Climat) & Dragonfly Contracts (Blackfriars House Roof Garden), for this amazing project opportunity.
