Our HYVERT elevated aftercare is a service which needs to be treated with the focus and respect it deserves which is exactly how our highly specialised team carry out planned care maintenance. (Frequently in challenging and complex environments too.)
They are professionally trained to work at heights and hold IPAF, PASMA, CSCS, SSSTS accreditations.
HYVERT already benefits from a built-in irrigation system which fulfils the living wall’s watering needs so our regular care maintenance visits encompass more complex/seasonal requirements.
Up-close aftercare
Up-close inspections are needed to clean out and remove spent leaves and prune the living wall to maintain original design features.
Another key area of our maintenance is adhering to strict fire regulations. The density of any ‘living wall’ foliage must be kept to a stringent length with minimal dried foliage.
Drainage needs to be kept clear, sensors cleaned, irrigation filters maintained and replacement planting carried out where necessary.
Due to the high volume of biodiversity HYVERT living walls attract, we also find that new (and unwanted) plant species may appear and these need to be removed immediately before they become invasive - a simple task but not at 18m high!
Adopting existing systems
It has become apparent to us that within this emerging green infrastructure sector there is a severe lack of knowledge and ability to work successfully in such a specialist environment.
To the extent that we are now receiving new client enquiries requesting our expert guidance to help retro-fix their existing and failing (non-HYVERT) living walls systems.
Some installed many years previously and others not so long ago.
We have already been successful in reviewing such systems; tailoring the feed & irrigation system to allow the plants to return to a healthier condition and thus helping clients retain their initial investment with reassuring ongoing support.
There are also scenarios where clients approach us for resolutions when their (non Hyvert) living wall systems have complete failure.
This could be due to anything from irrigation shut off, power outage or just sub-standard service.
We can diagnose the issue with a detailed remedial report and plan to resurrect the installation.
Having a future elevated aftercare schedule is critical to this process.
We are selective in which living wall systems we take-on due to liability issues, but we are happy to review all cases and provide full costs in advance, giving confidence in the result.
