When we work on a project with our friends at Sheila Bird Studio, we’re prepared for anything!
Our past experiences have taught us that creativity and fresh approaches are key.
This was definitely the case when we were invited to assist on their client brief for AI Experts, Peak.
‘Peak AI’ are a rapidly growing Manchester based Tech firm who wanted to create a new flexible and fluid workspace for their team. A space that culturally reflected wellbeing and the value Peak AI places on it’s occupants.
Sheila Bird Studio were tasked with turning this into reality….
A Biophilic element was therefore essential and as part of the project’s journey and well before installation took place, a team of staff from both Peak AI and Sheila Bird Studios came to visit our Commercial Nursery.
The visit formed part of a Team Building and CPD exercise where staff were given a tour of our operation and we also shared good practice and top tips for keeping plants happy and healthy.
The team were also invited to help with selecting and planting the various plant specimens which would ultimately be destined for Peak AI’s new workspace.
With sole focus on greenery and plants as opposed to selecting chic pots and containers, the plants were potted into generic ‘well lived-in’ varieties.
These pots were lined and made water-proof and were also put onto heavy-duty castors so that this new green infrastructure could be transient in it’s positioning.
Plant-care and maintenance will be regularly carried out by our Plant Technicians to ensure they stay looking lush too.
To compliment this abundance of live plants in pots, the project also included two trellis tunnels each covered in masses of artificial Pothos vines, Lyrata and broad leaves to the sides and the roof. Located on two separate floors at Peak AI these measured 58sqm and 89sqm respectively.
Not surprisingly and owing to their innovative approach and project delivery for Peak AI, Sheila Bird Studios have been nominated for ‘Project of the Year Finalist: Workspace Interiors 5-15k sq ft’, at the prestigious Mixology North 21 Awards to be held in Manchester this December.
This is a project we’re very proud to have been a part of.
